About the Author
Shari St. Martin is a recognized expert in the field of biofeedback, and she has been a central figure in the promotion of children’s health and education. Working on various boards and community outreach activities, Dr. Shari has dedicated the past thirty years to improving the lives of children and their families.
As the Director of Alternative Education in the Marin county schools, Dr. Shari integrated projects involving students, professors, teachers and community activists to promote student self-esteem in the school system. As President of the American Association of University Women, Dr. Shari was instrumental in the creation of Diversity Day for the State of California which began in 2000. Dr. Shari has been recognized on an International level for her expertise in working with families and children. Dr. Shari is fluent in English, Persian, Spanish and French and this has enabled her to work with children from around the world.

Symptoms, Stories, and the Evolving Child

Dr. Shari’s fifth book, Symptoms, Stories, and the Evolving Child: Applications of Biofeedback and Art Therapy in the Treatment of Children, is a major contribution to the scientific research on biofeedback and the fields of psychology and psychophysiology. The book recounts Dr. Shari’s twenty years of work in the field working with various populations including: orphans, elementary school aged children, children in Government programs and their families. Dr. Shari’s new book details her research and its practical application during hours of therapy conducted with thousands of children in California and Mexico.
